Hawaii is an island state in the United States, located in the Pacific Ocean. With Alaska, it's one of two states separated from the rest of the country (the Continental United States).

It was the 50th state to join the union, and is the only state to have no straight lines in its boundaries.

It's capital is Honolulu.

It has active volcanoes.

It served as a port for whalers and later the economy grew with pineapple farming and tourism.
