A wiki is a type of software that makes it easy for a large number of people to edit a web page without any special connection other than a web browser. Examples of wikis are Wikipedia, Wikademia, and Encyc. Wiki technology was first invented in the 90's. The first wiki was called WikiWikiWeb.
