Orkut

Orkut is a social network. It was designed primarily for a U.S. userbase, but after a few years it became the most visited site in Brazil. It has been reported that the success of the site in the South American country was due to spreading of the site by word of mouth. Nowadays, almost half of the users of the site are from Brazil.
