Johann Joseph Fux (born Hirtenfeld, Austria, 1660; died Vienna, 1741) was an Austrian composer and organist.

After studying in Jesuit universities, he was court composer in Vienna, 1698-1705. He was at St. Stephen's Cathedral, 1705-15 then becme Imperial choirmaster.

He wrote 20 operas, 4 oratorios, about 80 masses and many other works.
