so what are all the reasons that individuals should contribute and edit at Encyc? Wikademia

Lots. For example:
  1. Fun to write encyclopedia articles with a group
  2. Prevent WMF from having a monopoly on wiki encyclopedias
  3. Share information that isn't welcome on Wikipedia
  4. Write an encyclopedia that is comprehensible to the average reader (high school reading level)
  5. Write your way, without very much interference from management
  6. Freedom from Wikipedia jargon, e.g. PROD, RfC, Semi-protect, etc.
  7. Simplified wiki code, without extensive templates and programming knowledge required to participate

Probably a non-profit in time, but for now it's just a regular website. I suppose as traffic increases there will have to be some way to get funding to pay for the bandwidth. Maybe that's a reason to hold off on images a little longer. Emperor 13:26, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
