== About page counts == Encyc pages have a note at the bottom: "This page has been accessed x times." This used to be core functionality on MediaWiki but it was taken out a long time ago. We have been using the Hitcounters extension to keep page counts. Anyway we have introduced a page caching system which will mean a lot of counts are missed. In particular, visitors who are not logged in will usually be served cached HTML instead of a page generated via PHP and the database. We can still use the numbers as a rough guide to how popular pages are, but the number needs to be viewed as a minimum.
